A wife, overly dependent on her deceased husband, took her own life, leaving four young children orphaned. Friends struggle with grief and the devastating loss.
An Experience Shared by Talk2veee (@talk2veee) on X:
A friend of mine tragically lost her husband last week after 8 years of marriage.
Throughout their marriage, he treated her like a queen, taking care of everything. She had little need for her own income because her husband was dependable and incredibly supportive. While she had learned to bake cakes and ran a small kitchen-based business, it was more of a hobby to keep her occupied. She still relied heavily on him for supplies and financial support.
Her husband was the ultimate provider. He ensured she and their children lacked nothing. She didn’t have to buy gas, do school runs, or even fuel the car he gifted her. If the car broke down, she would leave it, call him to handle it, and return home by keke. He even took care of shopping, down to buying her toiletries and undergarments.
Last week, he suddenly complained of stomach pain. Before they could get to the hospital, he passed away.
Since then, all of us—her friends—have been trying to console her. She called me around midnight last night, asking where she could possibly start now. She knew I had been living independently for years and handling responsibilities on my own. She confessed she didn’t know how to begin managing life without her husband.
I offered her words of encouragement, shared advice, prayed with her, and wished her a good night’s rest.
This morning, I called to check in, but her sister answered the phone. She told me the devastating news: my friend had taken her own life.
Now I’m in pain, completely shattered. Why did this have to happen? What will her four children—ages 7, 5, 3, and a 1-year-old toddler—do now?
God, please help.
